CONSTITUTION

1990

 Section 1

 ARTICLE   1: Name

 The name of the organization shall be TORONTO COLTS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION, hereinafter referred to as the T.C.H.A. (ONTARIO CORPORATION #000959110)

 ARTICLE   2: Purpose

 The purpose of the T.C.H.A. is:

To promote, govern and improve hockey in the area. To foster a community spirit among members, supporters and teams and to maintain and increase interest in the game of hockey.

  ARTICLE   3: Affiliation

 The T.C.H.A. shall be affiliated with the Greater Toronto Hockey League, hereinafter referred to as the G.T.H.L.

 ARTICLE   4: Membership

 The T.C.H.A. shall consist of:

A Board of Directors hereinafter referred to as the EXECUTIVE, TEAMS (Players), COACHES, MANAGERS, TRAINERS and PARENTS.

ARTICLE   5: Executive

 The Executive shall consist of:

·       President

·       Secretary

·       Treasurer

·       General Manager (Competitive teams and G.T.H.L. representative)

 

ARTICLE   6: Duties of the Executive

The President:

Will supervise and direct the operation of the T.C.H.A:

 The Secretary:

Shall keep any accurate record of the proceedings of the T.C.H.A.  Receive all communications and conduct all correspondence at the direction of the President. Notify members of meetings.

 The Treasurer:

Shall keep an accurate record of all Money received and disbursed. Prepare a Financial Statement; deposit all money in a selected Chartered Bank or Trust Company under the name “Toronto Colts Hockey Association”.

 General Manager: (Competitive Teams and G.T.H.L. representative)

Shall have control of the Teams entered in the G.T.H.L.  Appoint Coaches.

Represent and inform the President the results of meetings of the G.T.H.L. Report regularly to the President on the operation of the G.T.H.L. entries.

  ARTICLE   7: Limitation of Liability

 No director or officer of the T.C.H.A. shall be liable for the acts, receipts, neglects or defaults of any other director or officer or volunteer, or for joining in any receipt or other act for conformity, or for any loss, damage or expense happening to the T.C.H.A. through the insufficiency or deficiency of title to any property acquired by order of the board for or on behalf of the T.C.H.A., or for the insufficiency or deficiency of any security in or upon which any of the Money of the T.C.H.A. shall be invested, or for any loss or damage arising from the bankruptcy, insolvency or tortious act of any person with whom any of the Money, securities or effects of the T.C.H.A. shall be deposited, or for any loss occasioned by any error of judgment or oversight on his part, or for any other loss, damage or misfortune whatever which shall happen in the execution of the duties of his office or in relation thereto unless the same are occasioned by his own  willful neglect default.

 Section: 2

2.1:  PRE-SEASON MEETINGS

 A key point of starting the Season off on the right foot is the following activities:

 1a.  PRE-SEASON MEETINGS

·        Communicate with: Parents, Players, Support Staff, your Association (T.C.H.A.) and the League (G.T.H.L.)

 2b.  MAINTAIN COMMUNICATIONS AND MORALE

·       Stress the importance of developing communications channels.

·       Provide the right atmosphere for self-motivation.

·       Conduct “rap-sessions”

 

3c.  DESIGN A MASTER PLAN

·       Player discussions on your draft plans.

·       Review steps for your Seasonal Plan and Why?

·       Provide opportunity for player input.

·       Entertain players’ pet peeves.

·       Listen to feedback very carefully

 4d.  GUIDELINES FOR RUNNING PRE-SEASON MEETINGS

·       Notify your Players, their Parents and your Support Staff well in advance.

·       Send out an Agenda:  Time and Place (time it so that the date will not clash

      with a holiday etc.)

·       Indicate to those who are coming what you expect them to do and if they need

      to bring anything.

·       Allow time for discussions of goals.

·       Have plenty of time for Questions and Answers.

·       Be prepared to make suggestions on:  Equipment Purchases, Individual training

      programs, Old or New injury problems and Chronic Health

      issues (asthma, diabetes etc.)

2.2:  HEAD COACH

RESPONSIBILITIES/PHILOSOPHY

The Coach must establish a set of rules, or better put rules of conduct for himself

and his bench staff.

 1.  HEAD COACH

·       Overall responsibility for the actions of every member of the Team and

      Bench Staff.

·       Directing the Team on the bench.

·       Developing Team Strategy with his Bench Staff.

·       Communicating with the Team Members.

·       Monitoring injured Player’s progress.

2.  COACH’S PHILOSOPHY

·       DISCIPLINE: On ice in style and Team Play.

·       RESPECT: For himself and everyone involved.

·       EFFORT: Always lead by example.

·       COMMITMENT: To Individuals, the Team and its Goals.

·       TEAM WORK: Everyone together can accomplish much more than people can                                                     

       individually.

 2.3: COACHING STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION

3.  ASSISTANT COACHES

·       Assist in practices with drills.

·       Record statistics.

·       Assist the Coach in systems development, running the bench, discipline players, etc.

 4.  MANAGER

·       Responsible for all off-ice arrangements (Tournaments, Fund Raising, Team News

      Letter, getting additional Practice Ice, and more)

·       Parents Liaison.

·       Association and League Contact.

 5.  TRAINER

·       Keep up with Techniques/Certification.

·       Treat injured players (not as a doctor would, but, prevent further injury until trained help arrives.)

·       Advice coach regarding injuries and when a player might be permitted to return to play.

·       Checking protective equipment, that it is not defective and that all players are wearing the prescribed protective equipment.

   2.4:  PLAYER’S CODE

 1. Play for the “fun of it”, not just to please your parents or coach

2. Play by the rules. (G.T.H.L./T.C.H.A.

3. Never argue with the Officials’ decisions. Let your Captain or Coach ask

   any necessary questions.

4. Control your temper, “No Mouthing Off”, breaking sticks or throwing your

   equipment.

5. Work equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team’s performance will

  benefit and so will your own.

6. Be a good sport. Cheer all good plays, whether your team’s or your opponents.

7. Treat all players, as you yourself would like to be treated. Don’t interfere with,

  bully or take unfair advantage of any player.

8. Remember that the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and

  feel good. Don’t be a show-off or always try to get the most points or penalties.

9. Cooperate with your coach, teammates and opponents, for without them you

    don’t have a game.

 2.5:  PARENT’S CODE

  1.   Do not force an unwilling child to participate in sports.

  2. Remember children are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment,  not yours.

  3. Encourage your child always to play by the rules.

  4. Teach your child that honest effort is as important as Victory so that the result of each game is              accepted without undue disappointment.

  5. Turn defeat to victory by helping your child work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship. Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a competition.

  6.  Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good plays by your team and by members of the opposing team.

  7.  Do not publicly question the Officials’ judgment and never their honesty.

  8.  Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from children’s sporting activities.

  9.  Recognize the value and importance of Volunteer Coaches. They give of their time and resources to provide recreational activities for your child.

 

  

2.6: ANNUAL PLAYER TRYOUT

SELECTION PROCEDURE

 1. The Association (T.C.H.A.) will be responsible for advertising Tryout:

    Date, Time, Arena Location, Team categories with Coaches’ name and

    telephone numbers.

2. Each team of the T.C.H.A. will be responsible for setting up a table to register

    and collect money from each player trying out. As well pass out numbered jerseys

    in order to properly identify each player during the ice session. In addition you will      

    also be responsible to set up a separate room for the signing of the commitment     

    letter for those players you choose to be on your team.

 3. Upon signing the commitment letter, you must get one third (1/3) of the annual fee

    as prescribed by the T.C.H.A. Executive; this will change from year to year, you

    will be notified as to the amount and it will ensure the player a guaranteed place on 

    the team. If a deposit is not given a player goes back in the pool and will then take

    the chance of someone else taking his/her spot.

 4. Once your tryouts are finished you will then submit to the General Manager, an

    envelop with a list of all players trying out, the Money they paid for the tryout,

    all commitment letter signed and all deposits given on commitment. You will

    repeat this process for all your tryouts.

 5. Effective Plan for Player Selection:

             A. What to Evaluate: Able to skate and check. Understand the concept of team

                play. Able to exercise self-control. Able to keep focused. Able to interpret and

                 react to game situations. Physical strength and endurance.

 

             B. How to evaluate: Specific drills (i.e. backchecking, forechecking). Competitive

                skate drills/timed skate drills. Controlled scrimmages. Player history.

 

             C. Assign responsibility for player selection: Designing the try-out sessions.

                Organize coaches for drills (try to have a broad range of specialty i.e. goaltender

                coach, a defense coach, a forward coach). Use of impartial observers (try to

                key on area of indecision). Head Coach to separate self from on ice

                procedures.

 

6. Player Release:

                        a. Avoid public announcements.

                        b. Speak to each player individually and invite their feedback.

                        c. Evaluate the player’s tryout (point out the strengths and touch on

                            where they may need improvement).

                        d. Don’t make any promises.

                        e. Direct players to another team.

                        f. Ask parents if they have any questions.

                        g. Thank players for their participation. Leave on a positive note.

 

2.7:  ANNUAL TRYOUT RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.       Be on duty in the dressing room at least thirty (30) minutes before and after scheduled game or

            practice time.

 

  2.       Obtain a game sheet from G.T.H.L. representative at ticket both at arena       entrance.

 

  3.       Complete game sheet, clearly printing player’s names, with given name first followed by surname.

             Identify (1) Captain with “C”, maximum (3) Assistant

            Captains with “A”, and Players playing up from a lower team, identify with “AP”.

            Clearly identify the Coaching Staff and Manager. (only (4) Coaches allowed on

            the bench)

 

  4.       Ensure that the team is ready to go on the ice fifteen (15) minutes before game time.      

 

  5.       Ensure that the dressing room door is locked when team leaves to go on the ice.

 

  6.       Give completed game sheet to Referee before players go on the ice.

 

  7.       Ensure that players leave the ice after the game by player’s bench gate.

 

  8.       Inform all players of the game and practice times for the following week.

 

  9.       Ensure that all players conduct themselves in an orderly manner while in his/her charge.

 

10.       Ensure that no persons other than players and team officials are permitted in

            the dressing room except in the Minor Atom and Novice age groups.

 

11.       Ensure that required protective equipment is worn by each player; is in good

            condition and will provide maximum protection.

 

12.       Report accidents immediately to the General Manager and ensure that all completed forms are             

             forward to the General Manager as soon as possible.

    

13.       Check dressing room after team vacates to ensure that no equipment or clothing has been left by         

             players.

           

14.       Check dressing room before and after a game or practice, for any damages if any,       

            after team vacates and report immediately to the Arena Manager and then inform       

            your General Manager.

                       

            (a) In cases where damage to arenas can be attributed to an G.T.H.L. team or

            player, the guilty party will be assessed the expenses and may be barred from

            further competition.       

 

15.       Inform your General Manager as to the number of Game Officials that showed

            up to Officiate, in the event that the required numbers of Officials are not

            present, we (T.C.H.A.) can get Credit for Game Sheet Money.

 

16.       You, (The Coach) must at all times carry the completed Medical Forms of all

            your players. (Usually kept in your first Aid Kit)

  

17.       No one is allowed to sneak into arenas without paying. Players caught

           sneaking in without paying will be suspended for four (4) games     

           (G.T.H.L./T.C.H.A. rule) on the first offence and indefinitely for repeat offence.

              

18.       Any person who allows his/her pass (Coach, Manager, Trainer, Associate or

            Club pass) to be used illegally by another person, will have his/her privilege

            revoked for a period of one (1) year and subject to a fine.

           (G.T.H.L./T.C.H.A. rule)

           

19.       Where an Official (s), apposing Coach (s), or Spectator (s) seems to be                                                                        impaired i.e.: Alcohol, Drugs etc. report it to the G.T.H.L. representative

            at the main Gate (Ticket Taker) and request that they report it to the

            General Manager or the G.T.H.L., in addition write a full report to the

            General Manager of the T.C.H.A.

 

20.       All complaints regarding Game Officials and opposing Coaches, should be

            written in detail and given to the General Manager of the T.C.H.A. 

 

 Section: 3

THE CLUB

3.1: Club Directors and Officials

 

The Club is governed by a Board pf Directors, some of who also act as Club officials. The name and position of these individuals are listed in Section 1-Article 5

 

Club Directors are responsible for reviewing the general performance of the Club and its Teams. This includes reviewing and approving:

 

Club Directors have no direct responsibility for liaising or interacting with Team Officials and parents/guardians and do no deal directly with Team affairs.

 

Club officials, including the General Manager, are responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of the Club and its Teams and all other matters in any way relating to the G.T.H.L., its members, other hockey organizations and governing bodies.

 

  3.2: The Club’s Responsibilities

 

i.                 Team Officials: The Club appoints and, if necessary, replaces the Head Coach of each Team and approves the selection of other Team Officials. The Club monitors and evaluates the performance of all Team Officials.

ii.               GTHL Registration: The Club registers its players and Team Officials with the GTHL.

iii.             Tournaments: The Club approves and processes tournament/exhibition game applications.

iv.             Practice Ice: The Club provides each team with 1.5 hours of practice ice each week on a regularly scheduled basis. Any additional practice ice required is to be arranged by the Team at its own cost.

v.               Equipment: The Club provides each team with Club mandated clothing which includes home and away game sweaters, practice jerseys and home and away socks. The Club must approve all sponsorship cresting prior to placement.

vi.             Disciplinary Hearings: The Club’s Officials accompany the Team Officials and player(s) to any disciplinary hearing mandated by the GTHL.

vii.           Club Name & Logo: no unauthorized use of the Club Logo is permitted. The General Manager or President must first authorize all items with the Club Logo in writing prior to its production.

   

3.3: Fund Raising

 

i.                 General: The Club’s General Manager will review and approve all Team fund raising plans before they are implemented

ii.               Club Dance: The Club will hold a dinner/dance on a date selected by the Club during each season. Each team shall be obligated to purchase a minimum of 24 tickets.

  

3.4: Communication with Club Officials

 

i.                 General: all issues and communications relating to the ordinary course of Club management should be directed to the General Manager, unless urgency or circumstances require that another Club Official be contacted:

ii.               Communications between the Club & Team Officials:

Unless otherwise dictated by circumstance or urgency, all requests, notices or other matters requiring interaction between the Club and a Team, shall be communicated to or by the Team’s Head Coach or Team Manager.

 

 

 

Section: 4

 THE TEAMS

  i.                 Team Officials. Each Team will have the following officials:

§       a Head Coach appointed by the Club

§       at least two Assistant Coaches appointed by the Head Coach subject to Club approval

§       a Team Manager, appointed by the Head Coach or the parents/guardians of the players on the team

 

ii.               GTHL Passes: The Club will provide a maximum of 5 arena passes to each Team for their Team Officials at no additional cost. Each Team may purchase one additional pass from the GTHL.

 

iii.             Treatment of Player when Parent/Guardian Acts as Team Official

If a child of a Team Official is a player on the team, the Head Coach shall cause such player to be treated in a manner consistent with the treatment accorded to other players of similar ability. Any dispute regarding the treatment of such player shall be referred by the parent/guardian of such player to the Club’s General Manager.

 

iv.             Team Meetings: The Head Coach will meet with the parents/guardians at least three times each session. The first meeting should be held prior to the commencement of the season.

 

v.               Sponsorship: Teams are encouraged to solicit support from corporate sponsors in order to reduce the financial burden on parents/guardians. The Team, at its own cost, may grant sponsors the right to place their names/logos on equipment etc. used by the Team. The General Manager must approve all sponsorship cresting.

 

 

 

 

 

Section: 5

  

CLUB and TEAM FINANCES

 

i.                 Permitted Use of Club Funds: The Club is a non-profit organization and cannot have any shareholders who are entitled to profit from its organization. All monies earned by the Club must be used to meet its ongoing obligations.

ii.               Team Bank Accounts. Each Team shall maintain a bank account under the Team’s name. All cheques/withdrawals from the Team bank account shall require the signatures of two of the three signing officers. Only one of these signing officers can be a Team official. The names of the authorized signing officers shall be provided to the Club.

iii.             Team Budgets: at least 14 days before the date of the first team tryout, each Head Coach will submit a Preliminary Team Budget to the Club for approval. The Preliminary Team Budget must include:

§       Proposed Team revenues including sources

§       Proposed Team expenses

 

iv.             Club will provide the Preliminary Budget to parents/guardians:

§       The approved preliminary Budget will be provided to the parent/guardian of each proposed player prior to the signing of the player’s registration card

§       The parent/guardian must acknowledge in writing that they have received a copy of the Preliminary Budget

 

v.               Final Team Budget: The Head Coach will submit the Final Team Budget to the Club and a parent/guardian of each player prior to the start of the GTHL season.

 

vi.       Team Financial Summaries: The Team will produce 2 additional financial summaries as follows:

§       mid-season

§       end of season

 

vii.       Use of Surplus Funds: If there is a surplus of funds available to a Team at the conclusion of a season, such surplus shall be used in a manner determined by the parents/guardians. Failing this, the surplus funds shall be divided equally among all parents/guardians.

 

viii.         Disputes over Finances: Any complaint by a parent/guardian arising out of a Team Budget or financial summary must be referred to the Club for resolution in accordance  with the Club’s Dispute Resolutions Policy

 

   

Section: 6

 

Additional Rules Relating to

Parents/Guardians

 

i.                 Payment of Fees: The parents/guardians are responsible to make all payments required on a timely basis in accordance with the rules prescribed for the Team. Failure to make such payments at the times prescribed may result in suspension of the player until such payment is received by the Team;

ii.               See Section II-part D for additional responsibilities

 

   Section: 7

 

Additional Rules Relating to Players

 

i.                 Player injury: Neither the Club nor the Team is responsible for any injury suffered by a player, whether on or off the ice and howsoever caused.

ii.               Allocation of Ice Time: The Head Coach shall make all decisions regarding the amount of ice time afforded to a player having the best interest of the Team. Any player denied reasonable ice time, or parent/guardian of that player, shall be entitled to request and obtain an explanation for such decision without fear of repercussions. If a player is not satisfied with the explanation they may request that the issue be referred to the Club for determination.

 

iii.             Playing & Practicing with Affiliated Teams; The following teams are affiliated with each other:

 

Whenever practical, players should be made available to the Affiliated Team so long as it does not conflict with the players’ primary responsibility to their own team.

 

iv.             Permission to Skate: Permission to skate with other GTHL, OMHA or Alliance teams shall be granted at the discretion of the Club and shall only be binding of signed by the President or General Manager.

     v.               Subsidy Requests: The Club may consider written requests to subsidize all or a portion of a player’s        registration fee. Such subsidy, if any, will require compelling circumstances and a clear     demonstration of need and will only be granted to individuals who exemplify the standards and values of the Club. The Club may require the Team in question to match any subsidy.

vi.             Repayment of Subsidized Registration Fees: If a subsidized player decides to leave the Club prior to the end of the season, a pro-rated charge of registration fees used to date will be calculated and billed to the parent/guardian and submitted to the GTHL. The bill will be calculated as follows: $6.50 for each day beginning with the first practice and ending January 15th

 

vii.           Releases: once a player registration cared is signed, the Club will not grant a release to a player except under compelling and unusual circumstances which necessitates the severing of such player’s relationship from the Team, having regard to the best interests of all concerned. No release shall be binding on the Club unless it is in writing signed by both the President and General Manager of the Club.

 

viii.         Refunds where the release was granted prior to November 15th:

 §       If a player is released by the Club prior to November 15th, the Team shall, within 15 days following the Club’s granting of such release, reimburse to the player a portion of the fees determined as follows: A charge of $25.00 will be charged for each game, practice or training session that the Team held from the day of the card signing to the day the release was granted. Before the cheque is released, all items supplied by the Club must first be returned to the Team Manager

 ix.              Refund Policy After November 15th:

§       If a player is successful in securing a release from the GTHL after November 15th, no refund will be made.

 

 x.                the last signing date for players is January 15th

xi.              a player suspended by the GTHL can not play in any games(exhibition or tournament) until their suspension is served

 

 Section: 8

 

Dispute Resolution

 

§       24 hour rule: the complaint must wait 24 hours before making their concerns  know to the appropriate party

§       Team Manager or designate receives a written copy of the complaint-send copy to Club General Manager

§       Team Manager takes the complaint to the appropriate Team Official and sets up a meeting within 48 hrs to resolve the issue(s)

§       If issue is not resolved-the Club’s General Manager & President are notified and hence a meeting is set-up. All parties shall attend such meeting in person and without legal counsel or other representation

§       The Club shall issue a statement in writing setting out its decision and the reason(s) relied upon in reaching its decision within 10 business days of the meeting. The decision shall be binding upon all interested parties.

  

Section: 9

  

Dress Code

 

The dress code outlines the standard of dress to which you and your team are expected to adhere to while representing the Colts Dress codes set a positive image for the organization.

 

 

 Section: 10 -BY-LAWS

  

                1.             No group, team or individual in the T.C.H.A. shall conduct money-raising project             without                                    permission from the Executive.

         2.             There will be no canvassing or soliciting of any kind without permission from the     

                        Executive.

         3.             No group, team or individual in the T.C.H.A. shall obtain jackets or other apparel            or any                                      equipment bearing the name of the T.C.H.A. without permission from the Executive.

         4.             Sponsors shall not be approached to donate more than the amount agreed upon at         the start of the              season.

 

        5.             There shall be no bribery of players by any member of the T.C.H.A.

 

        6.             An Executive member who has been absent for three (3) consecutive meetings

                        without sufficient cause shall be subject to removal from the Executive and his

                        place filled by appointment.

 

        7.             A member of the Executive may hold more than one (1) office within the             T.C.H.A.

 

        8.             Members shall not be affiliated with any other hockey group or league, which is

                        affiliated with the G.T.H.L.

 

        9.             The General Manager (G.T.H.L. representative) shall not deviate from the

                        policy of the T.C.H.A. in dealings with the G.T.H.L. or other organizations.

 

      10.             Teams or Players causing damage to any arena may be barred from further  

                        competition.

 

      11.             Teams must receive permission from the General Manager to play any practice or

                        exhibition game or to enter any tournament.

 

      12.             Any tournament being held by the T.C.H.A., the Executive shall have the right to

                        accept or reject entries and govern the conduct of teams.

  13.       A member of the Executive, or an appointee, may accompany any team(s)     traveling out of town for        exhibition or tournament games to act as a convener. He/She will handle all T.C.H.A. business with the             Coach and Manager handling the team.

 

14.       Players and other members of the T.C.H.A. are governed by the Constitution,

            By-Laws and Special Rules of the T.C.H.A. Playing rules of the Canadian

            Hockey Association (CHA) shall be adopted with amendment by the G.T.H.L.

            and T.C.H.A.

 15.       Any player who is an amateur in good standing and resides within the boundaries

            of the T.C.H.A. is eligible for membership.

 16.       Players shall complete a Player’s Contract (CHA Card) for each playing season.

 17.       There shall be a registration fee charged yearly for all players, the amount to be set by the       Executive.

 18.       Birth certificates must be provided for all players. Players unable to provide a birth certificate or other       suitable proof of birth date must provide a sworn and notarized affidavit to prove age.

 19.       The last signing date for players is January 15th. Player’s Card must be registered with the           T.C.H.A. on or before that date.

 20.       Any player signing a Card with the T.C.H.A. and also another Organization affiliated with the G.T.H.L.        shall be suspended. The Executive can only grant reinstatement. (This is specified in the            G.T.H.L. BY-LAWS yearbook)

 21.       Releases must be handled by the Executive and signed by the President or    General Manager. No   releases will be granted after December 15th. (as per G.T.H.L. and C.H.A. BY-LAWS)

 22.       A player shall be considered as having played in a game when his/her name appears on the game sheet       that is filed with the G.T.H.L.

 23.       Helmets with facemasks, neck guards, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey gloves, shin pads,

            athletic support and cup, hockey pants, and any other protective equipment as designated by the  

            Each player must wear executive, for all games and practices.

24.       All unused C.H.A. cards must be returned to the General Manager by the first

            week following January 15 of each new season.

25.       The T.C.H.A. shall pay the fee to insure all members of the T.C.H.A. against

            injury.

 26.       Series age limits shall be in accordance with G.T.H.L. rules.

 27.       Coaches and Managers found guilty of deliberately using an over age or

            The Executive will deal with ineligible player.

 28.       After December 31st, a player having been listed to play in more than five (5)

            games with the T.C.H.A./G.T.H.L. team shall automatically become a member

            for that team for the balance of the season.

 29.       The T.C.H.A. shall operate teams in the G.T.H.L. regular series at the  

            discretion of the Executive.

 30.       There shall be no baiting of Referees by Coaches and/or Managers or other

            members of the. (The penalty being a reprimand or suspension.)

 31.       There will be no smoking on or in the area of the player’s bench during a game.

            When games are played in any arena there will be no smoking beyond the

            arena entrance doors.

 32.       A player suspended by the G.T.H.L. can not play in any games until his/her suspension is served.

            This includes all exhibition and tournament games. As well, any member of the T.C.H.A. (other than a

            player) that is suspended can not perform any duties for the T.C.H.A. or G.T.H.L. until suspension is   served.

 33.       A Suspended Player (s) or Coach (s) is not permitted in or near the Dressing

            room nor the Bench. A Coach shall not try in any shape or form to Coach

            his/her team. (Penalties for these infractions are covered in the G.T.H.L.

            year book.      

 34.       A committee with a minimum of two (2) members shall be appointed by

            the President each season to audit the T.C.H.A. accounts. A completed

            statement should be ready for the Annual Meeting.

SPECIAL RULES

The T.C.H.A./G.T.H.L. Teams

 1.         All players shall be required to sign a regular T.C.H.A. registration form in

            addition to the G.T.H.L. player’s card prior to playing in any league games.

            All players shall pay the registration fee prior to playing in any league games.

 2.         The General Manager shall forward to the G.T.H.L. a list with a minimum of

            fourteen (14) registered players on each team prior to the start of the playing

            season. Thereafter the General Manager shall inform the G.T.H.L. when team

            changes are made.

 3.         Teams traveling out of town to play exhibition or tournament games:

                         a.  All players must be registered with the T.C.H.A./G.T.H.L. and must all carry

                  a birth certificate.

                        b.   Adults should carry identification and a valid passport if destination is the

                  U.S.A.

             c.   Parents and other adults should be advised if extra medical coverage is

                  necessary.

             d.   A member of the T.C.H.A. will be in complete charge, even though a parent

                  and other adults are present.

             e.   Players, parents and other adults are all responsible for all equipment, luggage

                  and they’re own hotel accommodation.

             f.   Players, parents and other adults are expected to conduct themselves properly

                 while traveling.

             g.   The Coach will advise all players and parents of game times.
